8 Thousand 200 Years Mystery in Konya
Konya hosts a very important archaeological heritage that leads to human history. The oldest map in the world A unique wall picture, which was considered and dates to about 8 thousand 200 years ago, was discovered in the Forkhöyük Neolithic City, located south of Konya.

This was considered not only Anatolia but one of the most striking works of the world’s archaeological history.

This wall picture, which is located in Forkhöyük, is about 3 meters long and 90 centimeters wide and is drawn to the inner wall of a kerpiç house. According to experts, this depiction is the feature of being one of the first examples that humanity tries to perceive and transfer the environment they live.

This wall picture revealed during excavations in the 1960s, M.Ö. It is noted that dates between 6600–6200 years. This date makes the work one of the most important archaeological evidence of the Neolithic era. The red tones and mountain figure used in the picture represent a volcanic explosion of the period according to some researchers. In 2010, geological studies also support this opinion by revealing volcanic mobility in Central Anatolia.
