Ankara–İzmir High Speed Train Line stands out as one of the most strategic projects in Turkey’s transportation infrastructure. This giant project, which will connect the Aegean Region with a modern rail network, aims to be a major role in both passenger transportation and economic and social development. When completed, the distance between Ankara and İzmir will turn to a comfortable train journey of about 3.5 hours, instead of the road trip that lasts hours.
The trains on Ankara-Izmir High Speed Train Line with a total of 505 kilometers length can reach 250 kilometers per hour. In this way, the road transportation exceeding 8 hours will be considerably shortened. The physical progress rate of the line is reached by 65 percent and the studies continue in the planned calendar. The tunnels built under the project, quantums and high-standard infrastructure elements range from Turkey’s engineering capacity.
Ankara-Izmir High Speed Train Line, which will pass from Ankara, Afyonkarahisar, Uşak and Manisa route, will not only be two major cities, but many settlements between these cities will also be economical. While increasing mobility in tourism, trade and industrial areas, regional development will achieve a more balanced structure. Due to modern stations, transportation between cities is more accessible and safe.
The authorities indicate that the Ankara-Izmir High Speed Train Line was opened in 2027. When the project is completed, it will contribute to the understanding of environmental transportation and provide a quick, comfortable and safe travel alternative to citizens. This line, which is seen as an important milestone in Turkey’s railway vision, will guide the future of transportation investments.
