Zero Emission Day:In 2008, the Canadian environmental activist launched by Ken Wallace “World zero emission day” was intended to press a daily brake in the sectors with the source of emissions in energy and transportation. What can we do on zero emission day:Send waste to recycling,
Close when we don’t use the computer,
prefer public transportation or bike,
consume seasonal and local products,
Don’t buy products that we don’t need for discounts.
Carless Life Day:The origin of the non-car life day dates back to the 1973 oil crisis, the idea that arises against the problems created by the European Commission in 2000. Since that date, in the event that spreads to a week; walking, cycling, using a mass stone has become a culture that not only prefers a transportation but also recreates public areas.
Today, electric vehicle races in Budapest, street picnics in Vienna, horse riding activities in Sao Paola and running in Jakarta. Common message anywhere: Non-Car Cities are more livable cities.
Mobility For Everyone:This year’s 16-22 September Theme of the European Mobility Week “ Mobility For Everyone” is the vision of creating inclusive fair and accessible cities not only clean transportation. The Union of Turkish Municipalities will lead the campaign as a national coordinator with the support of the European Union Turkey delegation.
Among 16-22 September, municipalities around Turkey will organize events to promote sustainable transportation solutions, promote community engagement and remagine the common urban areas.
